Materials for Energy Generation
October 26th – 28th, 2015, Chimie ParisTech
PARIS
Overall presentation JA 2015
As the energy transition is at the core of important debates in France and in Europe, materials have a key role to play in order to improve energy production and management. The present production routes need to be more efficient and more environmentally friendly. Materials will therefore be used in drastically more severe conditions.
The development of new energy production routes requires innovative materials, which combine mechanical and physical properties and improve the robustness and the efficiency of these innovative technologies.
The 2015 SF2M Annual Meeting aims at gathering scientists, researchers, PhD students, from academia and industry for discussions on the pluridisciplinary and strategic topic of “materials for energy generation”.
I. Introductory day "Materials & Energy"
The introductory day will be devoted to plenary lectures as a general and largely open introduction to the links between materials and energy. Invited speakers will update the scientific, technical and economic dimensions of these energy issues.
The programme is available.
A special one-day registration will be available for those interested in the issues raised by the energy transition.
II. Five topics will then deal with the scientific and technical advances in this field:
Topic 1 : | Materials for energy storage |
Topic 2 :
|
Materials for energy production – improving ageing resistance under severe loading conditions |
Topic 3 : | |
Topic 4 : |
Energy and material production – energy efficiency and energy transition |
Topic 5 :
|
Physical metallurgy and properties of ODS steels (CPR ODISSEE). A draft programme is available. |
