Yannick Champion , lauréat du prix Constellium décerné par l'Académie des Sciences

Directeur de Recherche CNRS et directeur du laboratoire Science et Ingénierie des Matériaux et Procédés (SIMaP), Yannick Champion a reçu le Grand Prix Constellium 2016 décerné par l'Académie des Sciences. Ce prix récompense un chercheur dont les travaux à caractère fondamental ou appliqué contribuent au progrès de l'industrie de transformation de l'aluminium et plus largement aux connaissance en métallurgie concernant cette industrie. Yannick Champion s'intéresse à l'effet combiné de la microstructure et de la chimie sur le comportement d'alliages à grains ultrafins, de verres métalliques et plus récemment d'alliages à haute entropie

 

John J. Jonas, lauréat de la 2017 Acta Materialia Gold Medal

John J. Jonas, professeur émérite à McGill University, Montreal, Canada,  avait reçu  la Grande Médaille de la SF2M en 1991 et la médaille Réaumur en 1980 . Pour en savoir plus

 

Jonathan Cormier, "FEMS lecturer" lauréat 2016

Cette distinction lui a été décernée au cours des Junior Euromat à Lausanne. Jonathan Cormier avait reçu la médaille Jean Rist de la SF2M en 2015. Voir aussi: article NRsept2016

 

Jacques Poirier, Premier prix du Best Paper Award 2015 de Metallurgical Research & Technology

The Metallurgical Research & Technology Best Paper Award honors the author(s) of a paper of exceptional merit dealing with research and/or industrial aspects in metallurgy and bringing an outstanding contribution to the field.

His article “A review: influence of refractories on steel quality”, was published in volume 112/4, 2015, article 410, available in free access.

 

Jérôme Chevalier : médaille de l'innovation 2015 du CNRS

Jérôme Chevalier, membre du Conseil SF2M, figure parmi les 4 lauréats de la cinquième édition de la médaille de l'innovation du CNRS. Elle lui sera remise le 10 juin 2015. "Cette prestigieuse distinction récompense des personnalités dont les recherches exceptionnelles conduisent à des innovations marquantes sur le plan technologique, thérapeutique et sociétal."

Alexis Deschamps élu "Cooperating Society representative to the Board of Acta Materialia"

Jean-Marie Welter, membre d’honneur de la DGM

Au cours la journée annuelle DGM-Tag du 22 septembre à Darmstadt, Jean-Marie Welter, ancien président SF2M et correspondant au Conseil de la DGM jusqu’à 2014, a reçu officiellement la distinction de membre d’honneur de la DGM.  

 

Claude ESLING, est lauréat du Bunge Award 2014

Claude ESLING, membre des Laboratoires LEM3 et DAMAS de l’Université de Lorraine, a reçu le Bunge Award, " in recognition of his distinguished contributions in the field of textures of materials and his continuous effort to pass his knowledge to the future generations of texture researchers".

Cette distinction lui a été remise au cours de Conférence Internationale ICOTOM 17, à Dresde, 24-29 août 2014.

Henry Proudhon, "FEMS lecturer" lauréat 2014

Cette distinction lui a été décernée au cours des Junior Euromat à Lausanne. Toutes nos félicitation à Henry Proudhon qui avait reçu la médaille Jean Rist 2013 de la SF2M.

 

J. David Embury lauréat de "2015 Acta Materialia Gold Medal Award"

The recipient of the 2015 Acta Materialia Gold Medal Award is Professor J. David Embury who holds the title of University professor at McMaster University in Canada.

LeLe Grand Prix Constellium est décerné à Christine BARET-BLANC, professeur des universités au Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche et d’Ingénierie des Matériaux à l’École Nationale Supérieure des Ingénieurs en Arts Chimiques et Technologiques CIRIMAT/ENSIACET, Toulouse. Distinctions de la FEMS :Prix 2013 e et Lecturer awards 2012-2013

La FEMS a distingué cette année 3 lauréats, Michel ppaz, European Materials Medal 2013, Johan A. Martens, Materials Innovation Prize 2013, et Michel Perez, Materials Science and Technology Prize 2013. Deux d'entre eux sont membres de notre société : le Président de la SF2M leur adresse toutes ses félicitations :

La distinction "FEMS European Materials Gold Medal 2013" a été attribuée au Professeur Michel Rappaz : c'est la plus haute distinction de la "FEMS, The Federation of European Materials Societies".

"FEMS recognizes with this award your significant contribution in introducing numerical simulation in the solidification field, the leading scientific breakthroughs in the scientific knowledge and the promotion of innovations in the industrial applications of this subject."

Les nouveaux Membres de l'Académie des sciences seront reçus solennellement sous la coupole de l’Institut de France mardi 21 juin 2011.

 

Diran Apelian, membre d'Honneur de la SF2M depuis 2000, a été récemment honoré de 2 distinctions :

Diran Apelian, Howmet Professor of Mechanical Engineering and director of the Metal Processing Institute at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), received two of the highest honors awarded in the field of materials science and engineering during the annual conference of the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS) in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 27.

Apelian received the 2007 Acta Materialia Inc. J. Herbert Hollomon Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to interactions between materials science and technology and societal interests, and/or contributions to materials technology that have had a major impact on society. The recipient is selected by an international committee of judges appointed by the board of governors of Acta Materialia Inc., a publisher of international journals in materials science and engineering.

Apelian was also formally presented with the 2006 Brimacombe Prize, which is awarded annually in memory of Keith Brimacombe, who made seminal contributions to the field of process metallurgy. The award recognizes a single or sustained contribution to materials process engineering that is deemed outstanding by the judges.

 

 

Bernhard Ilschner, membre d'Honneur SF2M nommé en 1994, décédé en 2006, a été honoré par une session spéciale d'Euromat 2007 

 During EUROMAT 2007, on Monday 10 Sept, the symposium B22 "High Temperature Metallic and Intermetallic Materials" will be dedicated to the commemoration of Bernhard Ilschner.

A special session has been held on selected lectures given by his former students, colleagues and companions.

 

 

André Bignonnet, lauréat du Prix Ernst-Gassner décerné par l'Institut Fraunhofer LBF.

Notre collègue André Bignonnet, très actif au sein du Bureau de la Commission Fatigue, a été honoré du Prix Ernst-Gassner.

This year's Ernst-Gassner-Award presented by the Fraunhofer LBF honors the work of Dr. Heinz Werner Lowak (Otto Fuchs KG) and Dr. André Bignonnet (formerly PSA, Consulting).

According to the international jury, the two scientists have in an exceptional manner combined "scientific performance and international work in the field of structural durability, as well as its practical implementation, in the spirit of Ernst Gassner". The prize was officially awarded on September 28, 2006 by Professor Cetin Morris Sonsino, Deputy Head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability LBF, during the conference on "Calculations and Simulation in Vehicle Manufacturing", held by the Association of German Engineers (VDI) in Würzburg, Germany.
